據(jù)說是墨西哥2000年以來最好看的7部電影之一,網(wǎng)絡(luò)熱搜的一部墨西哥影片;甫獲盧卡諾國際電影節(jié)金豹獎的《我的寂寞花園》,好似一場駭人聽聞的社會事件。雖是墨西哥出品,但卻深具北歐電影一貫壓抑的冷調(diào)氣息,不僅反映角色之間的階級差距,更透過劇情的層層解構(gòu),重組人與人之間即若離的矛盾感情。導演安歷奎.瑞維洛 (Enrique River) 讓男主角持 續(xù)觀賞電視新聞,透過殘暴的新聞內(nèi)容,旁敲側(cè)擊墨西哥當?shù)厣鐣y象,輔以大量長鏡頭跟拍,讓攝影機靜靜捕捉男主角的情緒及行為??此朴悬c無趣,但如果您靜下來慢慢體會角色的心境轉(zhuǎn)移,等影片發(fā)展到最后,您一定會被他所做出的行為給震懾到。頗耐玩味的結(jié)局畫面,既是諷刺,卻也悲情,令人心情為之凝重。 貝托是個老管家,守著一棟大豪宅,這個豪宅位在墨西哥城,多年來無人居住,但貝托是個盡責的管家,每天清掃落葉、擦洗浴缸,將整個豪宅整理得窗明幾凈。 歷經(jīng)這么多年的孤寂,千篇一律的日常工作,讓他的生活更加與世隔絕,電視機是他唯一與外界溝通的管道,因此對于所有的外來者有著病態(tài)的恐懼,他只和兩個人有接觸,一個是屋主,因為對他的感激及尊重而轉(zhuǎn)化成為服從;另一個是妓女露佩,他的付費愛人。 辛苦照顧房子的代價,竟然是房子將遭拍賣,這個困境造成貝托進退兩難的處境,即使屋主積極地幫貝托介紹其他的工作;但長年的孤獨及不與人接觸,從電視機里負面的新聞得知的外界,是他陌生而又恐懼的世界。其實,貝托沒有打算再換工作,一如往常地迎接屋主,處理掉屋主然后,轉(zhuǎn)換到牢房。電影中沒有太多人物,沒有太多對白,安安靜靜呈現(xiàn)孤獨的狀態(tài)。 年長的貝多在墨西哥城替人看守一所多年無人居住的房子。多年來,貝多一直孤身生活,對外面的世界產(chǎn)生了一種病態(tài)的恐懼。他僅與兩個人有來往,一個是房子的女主人,另一個是盧貝。盧貝是個妓女,也是他的知己和情人。這所房子最終被賣掉,貝多被迫面臨抉擇:勇于離開,還是爭取繼續(xù)留在他的幽居里?

The story follows the wanderings of a hero through the situations of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart. Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory? n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in. What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts. On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired. One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places. Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.
