1929年的越南是法國殖民地，一個15歲的法國少女（珍·瑪奇暫無內容飾）在西貢女子寄宿學校讀書。每逢假期她便回家，母親辦了一所很小的學校，收入甚少。她有兩個哥哥，大哥比爾吸毒成癮且橫行霸道，二哥保羅生性懦弱，常受大哥的欺負。一天少女一如往常一樣告別母親乘上渡船回學校，在船上遇到一個坐黑色大轎車的中國闊少爺（梁家輝暫無內容飾），他是華僑富翁的獨生子。中國男人喜歡這名白人少女便去搭訕，兩人便搭上了。暫無內容少女在寄宿學校里知道有的女生在外賣淫，她也想找個有錢人試試，因此很主動地與男人交談。上岸后兩人逛了西貢，還一起上館子吃中國飯菜，男人用汽車送她回學校。第二天剛放學，黑色汽車就等在校門口了。暫無內容兩人很快就墜入愛河。男人把少女帶到他的公館，這是中國富人們常用來金屋藏嬌的地方。他倆在這里幽會、洗澡、玩耍。有時晚上也不回學校，校方只好通知她的母親，然而……
