本片改編自HBO1988年起播映的影集,播出后廣受另類影迷的歡迎。依循該影集的特色,我們看到三層投射在電影銀幕的剪影,影片中的人正在觀賞一堆低俗可笑的B級影片。劇情安排一位邪惡的科學(xué)佛利特,他意圖以最低俗的B級影片來對人類洗腦,并進而控制人類的意志。片中被試驗的對象麥克是個平凡人物,但是他非但未被低級影片所害,反倒頗能樂在其中,并與銀幕上的主角產(chǎn)生頗具“笑”果的對話。本片以獨特的觀點來處理,對于新新人類,是另類電影風(fēng)的最佳代表與選擇。 快戴上你的太空安全帽,一場瘋狂滑稽的旅程就要展開!一位邪惡的科學(xué)家,意圖以最低俗的B級影片來對人類洗腦,并進而控制人類的意志,最后占領(lǐng)地球。因此一個倒楣的平凡人麥可納爾遜被當(dāng)成實驗對象,與兩個滑稽的機器人一同登上一艘宇宙飛船,被迫觀看1955年的一部爛科幻片。但是沒想到,麥可非但未被低級影片所害,反倒能樂在其中,并與銀幕上的主角產(chǎn)生頗具「笑」果的對話!此片是根據(jù)一個同名電視秀所改編而成,該電視秀從80年代晚期延續(xù)到90年代中期,它所造成的轟動盛況,不但有六萬名以上的瘋狂影迷,甚至還出了一本書,并拍了這部電影。
民初時代國家動蕩不安,軍閥割據(jù)導(dǎo)致民不聊生。曹云(林青霞飾)是大軍閥曹將軍的女兒,也是一個愛國者。但是不愿見到父親幫助袁世凱以國家的名義向外國銀行借貸巨款,讓國家的財務(wù)更雪上加霜,于是偷偷與革命人士聯(lián)絡(luò)。但是一邊是國家,一邊是父親也讓曹云不知如何取舍而陷入內(nèi)心的掙扎。白妞(葉倩文飾)從小在戲班春和班長大,被戲班主的父親(午馬飾)當(dāng)作丫環(huán)使,癡迷唱戲的她一直希望登臺表演,卻沒有機會;湘紅(鐘楚紅飾)是一位貪財?shù)母杓?,趁某軍閥逃跑時偷走其家中一大箱珠寶,卻誤打誤撞讓珠寶運進了春和班里。這三位在姻緣巧合下結(jié)識,透過這三位主角的生命交錯,共同譜出一段愛國傳奇......
Set in an underground dungeon inhabited by bundled, ragged human beings, after the nuclear holocaust. The story follows the wanderings of a hero through the situations of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart. Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory? n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in. What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts. On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired. One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places. Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.
