1929年美國(guó)的愛(ài)德格教授因想了解性的奧秘,于是藉由金援著手進(jìn)行科學(xué)研究,一群男性進(jìn)行相當(dāng)前衛(wèi)的性討論,另外有兩位女性做速記。他嚴(yán)禁大家調(diào)情、開(kāi)玩笑,一切都是嚴(yán)肅且科學(xué)的,但最后仍無(wú)法控制大家體內(nèi)荷爾蒙的作用,于是情緒被攪動(dòng)了,x愛(ài)的溫度也升高了,很快地,行動(dòng)取代了空談,情勢(shì)逆轉(zhuǎn),他也成為自己實(shí)驗(yàn)的主體,靈與欲的探索是否就此得到結(jié)論?

  電視臺(tái)的監(jiān)制阿南(曾志偉 飾)一直郁郁不得志,雖然才華橫溢,但是由于不善交際,做的都是一些冷門時(shí)段的節(jié)目。這日,他在一個(gè)公眾場(chǎng)合偶遇了過(guò)氣歌手阿Ken(吳鎮(zhèn)宇 飾),發(fā)現(xiàn)阿Ken想方設(shè)法都想上臺(tái)獻(xiàn)唱??粗en的古怪舉動(dòng),阿南突然有了一個(gè)想法,發(fā)現(xiàn)了一條可以幫助二人成功的道路。阿南向阿Ken提出成為他的獨(dú)家代理人,并幫他重新包裝,保證他一定能咸魚翻身。原來(lái),阿南的計(jì)劃就是讓Kenny裝瘋賣傻,全力吸引傳媒的視線,為了能再次踏上舞臺(tái),阿Ken答應(yīng)了。  果然如阿南所料,Kenny的瘋癲行為引來(lái)了大批傳媒,他也迅速走紅。此時(shí),電視臺(tái)為了能讓Kenny來(lái)上節(jié)目,只好滿足阿南的要求,將他調(diào)到熱門時(shí)段的節(jié)目讓他大展拳腳。正當(dāng)這對(duì)伙伴的事業(yè)一帆風(fēng)順時(shí),一個(gè)艱難的抉擇卻擺在了阿南面前。

 預(yù)科學(xué)校巴頓學(xué)院的老師保羅(保羅·吉亞瑪提 飾)不太受歡迎,不管是學(xué)生、老師還是校長(zhǎng),都不太喜歡他,他們覺(jué)得他浮夸又僵化。在1970年的圣誕假期,保羅留在了學(xué)校監(jiān)督無(wú)法回家的學(xué)生。幾天后,只有一個(gè)學(xué)生留了下來(lái)——一個(gè)名叫安格斯的15歲搗蛋鬼,他是一個(gè)被不良行為破壞的好學(xué)生,總是在被開(kāi)除的邊緣試探。與保羅和安格斯一起留下的還有學(xué)校廚師長(zhǎng)瑪麗,一個(gè)為特權(quán)階層的兒子們提供服務(wù)的非裔美國(guó)婦女,她自己的兒子最近在越南失蹤了。這三個(gè)截然不同的失意者組成了一個(gè)奇怪的圣誕家庭,在新英格蘭大雪紛飛的兩個(gè)星期里,分享著不幸經(jīng)歷,并意識(shí)到他們中沒(méi)有人感謝自己的過(guò)去。

等待方舟

  Set in an underground dungeon inhabited by bundled, ragged human beings, after the nuclear holocaust. The story follows the wanderings of a hero through the situations of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart.  Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory?  n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in.  What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts.  On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired.  One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places.  Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.
