領(lǐng)養(yǎng)驚魂

　　史蒂芬（瑞恩·菲利普）與莎倫（蕾切爾·李費(fèi)佛）來到波多黎各，打算接走通過中介收養(yǎng)的海地小女孩妮娜。他們在旅館結(jié)識(shí)了穿著防風(fēng)衣，頭發(fā)亂糟糟的本杰明（庫薩克）。六萬元的費(fèi)用付出手，妮娜卻突然失蹤，領(lǐng)養(yǎng)中介的工作人員不翼而飛，網(wǎng)站也無法打開……　　當(dāng)?shù)鼐旄嬖V他們，兩人是中了釣魚詐騙的圈套，以收養(yǎng)孩子為誘餌，拿到收養(yǎng)費(fèi)后就把孩子帶走，再去尋找下一個(gè)受害人。然而夫婦倆的厄運(yùn)還沒完，本杰明似乎是看準(zhǔn)了兩人是條大魚，把他們監(jiān)禁起來，要榨光他們所有的積蓄。

好像一切都很糟糕

Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
