故事講述了商人伯莫死亡，推測他的死因是由于飛機失事，他的妻子麗薩因此發(fā)財。保險公司開始對此事進行調查的時候，他們開始懷疑麗薩。他們派出調查員彼得去確定麗薩說的是否屬實。后來麗薩死亡，保險金不見，一個又一個的人因此受害，大家將會看到調查員彼得將如何完成自己的任務。
