焦急的母親菈葵兒(艾瑪蘇雷茲飾演)到銀行借錢,她必須在24小時(shí)內(nèi)籌到35000歐元(約新臺(tái)幣130萬(wàn)元),否則她將再也見不到心愛的女兒。經(jīng)過(guò)不斷懇求,銀行終於同意借款給她救急。不料在貸款手續(xù)快要完成之時(shí),兩個(gè)蒙面搶匪闖入銀行,不但搶走所有錢,就連在場(chǎng)所有顧客與行員都成為人質(zhì)。在分秒必爭(zhēng)的險(xiǎn)境當(dāng)中,菈葵兒決定無(wú)論付出什麼代價(jià),都一定要拿到這筆錢全身而退…。究竟她該如何保住性命?又該如何籌錢保住女兒呢?
Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
