該片是國家廣播電視總局2024年度電視劇引導(dǎo)扶持專項資金和“深入生活、扎根人民”傾斜項目，通過詩人田地發(fā)現(xiàn)田間、走進歷史、重寫戎冠秀的故事，用詩歌去表達還原當時戎冠秀支援前線的歷史，通過網(wǎng)絡(luò)讓觀眾熟知悉那段擁軍，愛軍的模范事跡。

　　記者玲（李心潔飾）的男友Peter獲得一宗刑事案件的新聞線報，前去取證途中突然遭遇交通事故意外身亡。玲覺得事有蹊蹺，調(diào)查后發(fā)現(xiàn)一宗模特命案。女模特Helen裸死于家中浴缸，富豪之子張承志沒有不在場證據(jù)，但事件竟被警方低調(diào)處理，張承志的相關(guān)證據(jù)也被消除。玲為不愿男友枉死，誓要調(diào)查出事件真相，但報社總編輯曾達時（梁家輝飾）卻不愿為玲伸出援手。無奈之下，玲只好求助常常被追債的飛(黃秋生飾)與馬仔(葛民灰)幫助她調(diào)查真相。飛原來是警察出身，在調(diào)查中，他發(fā)現(xiàn)Peter的死因確有蹊蹺。隨著調(diào)查的進行，黑暗中的黑手不斷想將玲置于死地，究竟事件的真相能否登上報紙的A1頭條？真相與言論自由的賽跑，在香港的午夜開始。
