Following her mother’s death, manga artist Soriya travels to her ancestral home in Phnom Penh, with hopes of reconnecting with her distant family and using the visit as inspiration for her work. All goes well initially. Renting an apartment in Metta, a rundown Khmer Rouge-era housing complex, her visit to her maternal relatives finds her welcomed with open arms. But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present. Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.

在首爾求學(xué)的女大學(xué)生康喜真（南相美 飾）每日奔波勞碌，疲憊不堪。這日她接到母親的電話，竟得知妹妹邵真（沈恩京 飾）失蹤，下落不明。她匆匆趕回老家，然而母親執(zhí)迷不悟，以為只靠虔誠(chéng)的祈禱邵真就能返回家中。面對(duì)母親的麻木，喜真只得報(bào)警，但警官泰煥（柳承龍 飾）只將其當(dāng)作一般的離家出走處理?！ 〔痪茫粋€(gè)女子在喜真家的窗前吊頸并墜樓而死。泰煥從死者房間找到一封遺書，其中甚至提到邵真的名字。泰煥無法從喜真母親那里得到任何線索，只得從小區(qū)管理員那里探知線索。卻得知邵真竟一曾被鬼附身，整個(gè)案件開始朝著詭異的方向發(fā)展……
