 沙漠里流傳著一句話：天出血，人死絕。故事發(fā)生在舊時代的西北，這樣一片沙漠地帶，它講述了一個愛情悲劇故事。年青的問九因鄉(xiāng)鄰間缺水爭執(zhí)而出逃在外，待回來時，曾與之心心相印的秀秀姑娘已被族叔迎娶，成了他的嬸嬸。水繼續(xù)威脅著人們的生存，問九的族叔為富不仁，竟以空手能否從滾開的油鍋里撈起銅錢來決定人們在綠洲的去留，他狠毒地騙問九替他撈起銅錢卻又暗地加害問九。問九奮起抗爭，砍死了族叔，被官府捉捕。牢獄未能囚住問九渴求自由的心。他一次次尋求機會越獄。數(shù)十年后，當問九逃出虎口，卻又被沙漠里的土匪抓住逼他帶路，對秀秀的愛情支撐著問九最后的生命，他再次出逃，掙扎著爬回自己的故鄉(xiāng)。但黃沙已無情地吞噬了這里的一切，唯有刻著綠洲村的石柱還未被淹沒。問九手撫石柱瞑目在這荒原上?；脑希氏紳M天。天出血，人死絕。

　　Following her mother’s death, manga artist Soriya travels to her ancestral home in Phnom Penh, with hopes of reconnecting with her distant family and using the visit as inspiration for her work. All goes well initially. Renting an apartment in Metta, a rundown Khmer Rouge-era housing complex, her visit to her maternal relatives finds her welcomed with open arms. But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present.　　Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
