等待方舟

The story follows the wanderings of a hero through the situations of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart. Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory? n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in. What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts. On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired. One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places. Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.

格利高里·派克,麗·萊米克,大衛(wèi)·沃納,比莉·懷特勞,哈維·史蒂芬斯,帕特里克·特羅,馬丁·本森,羅伯特·里耶蒂,湯米·杜根,約翰·斯特賴德,安東尼·尼科爾斯,霍利·帕蘭切,羅伊·博伊德,弗蕾達·道伊,希拉·雷諾故事發(fā)生在1966年6月6日的上午6時，在這樣一個不吉利的時刻，美國大使羅伯特（格利高里·派克 Gregory Peck 飾）領(lǐng)養(yǎng)了一個男孩并取名戴米（哈維·史蒂芬斯 Harvey Stephens 飾）。隨著時間的推移，戴米漸漸長大，一些奇怪事件的接連發(fā)生預(yù)示著厄運敲響了羅伯特的家門。戴米的保姆莫名自殺后，一個神秘的女人貝洛克（比莉·懷特勞 Billie Whitelaw 飾）毛遂自薦留在了戴米的身邊。之后，神父博南（帕特里克·斯偌頓 Patrick Troughton 飾）找到了羅伯特，他告訴羅伯特，戴米是撒旦的孩子，戴米會不擇手段完成統(tǒng)治世界的野心。對于神父的話，羅伯特半信半疑，直到博南神父的死訊傳來，羅伯特才意識到，事態(tài)的發(fā)展是多么的糟糕。
綠液驚魂
喬·基瑞,連姆·尼森,喬治娜·坎貝爾,索茜·貝肯,瓦妮莎·雷德格雷夫,萊絲利·曼維爾,亞倫·赫弗南,埃洛拉·托爾基亞,羅伯·柯林斯,賈斯汀·塞林格,加文·斯波克斯,安德魯·布魯克,達雷爾·席爾瓦,露伊薩·里希特,納赫爾·策蓋,丹尼爾·里格比,克萊爾·霍爾曼,瓦倫蒂娜·波普科娃,納納·詹姆斯兩個值守夜班的“倒霉蛋”甜點心（喬·基瑞 飾）和內(nèi)奧米（喬治娜·坎貝爾 飾），意外發(fā)現(xiàn)了瘋狂繁殖的外星寄生真菌，無福消受這頓重口加班餐的二人發(fā)出求救信號。“淡淡死感”的退休特工羅伯特（連姆·尼森 飾）被迫再就業(yè)，重新上崗拯救即將被真菌腐蝕的世界。他們一邊躲避著因寄生而綠液四濺的宿主們，一邊和翻涌的腸胃做斗爭，在一陣陣爆漿聲中大開“驚喜盲盒”。這組畫風(fēng)迥異的“臨時戰(zhàn)友”能否阻擋這場末日浩劫？誰又能活著走出這個驚魂之夜……
