好像一切都很糟糕

Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 　　萱島(竹野內豐)收到父親的訃告回到故鄉(xiāng)，從萱島的父親那里繼承土地的宇和島(山田孝之)與他一起，在山路上開車行駛時遭遇了意外事故。兩人醒來時，發(fā)現(xiàn)自己身處森林深處，被六個美麗的女人監(jiān)禁著。

　　記者玲（李心潔飾）的男友Peter獲得一宗刑事案件的新聞線報，前去取證途中突然遭遇交通事故意外身亡。玲覺得事有蹊蹺，調查后發(fā)現(xiàn)一宗模特命案。女模特Helen裸死于家中浴缸，富豪之子張承志沒有不在場證據，但事件竟被警方低調處理，張承志的相關證據也被消除。玲為不愿男友枉死，誓要調查出事件真相，但報社總編輯曾達時（梁家輝飾）卻不愿為玲伸出援手。無奈之下，玲只好求助常常被追債的飛(黃秋生飾)與馬仔(葛民灰)幫助她調查真相。飛原來是警察出身，在調查中，他發(fā)現(xiàn)Peter的死因確有蹊蹺。隨著調查的進行，黑暗中的黑手不斷想將玲置于死地，究竟事件的真相能否登上報紙的A1頭條？真相與言論自由的賽跑，在香港的午夜開始。
