 基克爾（弗雷德里克·馬奇 Fredric March 飾）是一名知識非常淵博的科學(xué)家，他將畢生的經(jīng)歷都投注到了探索人性的善惡奧妙之中，并且最終制造出了一種可怕的藥劑，這種藥劑能夠令基克爾化身成為海德先生，基克爾將自己所有的惡意和壞念頭都投射到了海德的大腦里。白天，基克爾行醫(yī)救人樂善好施，待到夜幕降臨，海德先生便會現(xiàn)身，殺人害命，無惡不作。基克爾有一位名叫伊芙（米利亞姆·霍普金斯 Miriam Hopkins 飾）的未婚妻，兩人之間的感情非常的要好，然而，海德先生的存在讓基克爾不自覺的被名叫碧翠絲（Eric Wilton 飾）的放蕩妓女所吸引。分裂的人格讓基克爾感到萬分的痛苦，他想要消滅海德先生。

　　Following her mother’s death, manga artist Soriya travels to her ancestral home in Phnom Penh, with hopes of reconnecting with her distant family and using the visit as inspiration for her work. All goes well initially. Renting an apartment in Metta, a rundown Khmer Rouge-era housing complex, her visit to her maternal relatives finds her welcomed with open arms. But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present.　　Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
