皮特（羅杰·里斯 Roger Rees 飾）是一名心理治療師，專門幫助患者們解決心靈上的病痛?？蓪嶋H上，他的心理并不健康，皮特是一個受虐狂。他和一個名叫蘇珊娜（Geno Lechner 飾）女人有一個秘密的約定，那就是每周見面一次，在那一天，蘇珊娜會對皮特進行身體上的虐待，而皮特則獲得了心靈上的而滿足。 皮特有一個結(jié)婚多年的妻子帕里，帕里早就知道了丈夫的特殊嗜好，但是并沒有多加干涉，她允許自己的丈夫在內(nèi)心里保留他的秘密空間，只要除此之外的全部都是屬于她的。隨著時間的推移，皮特和蘇珊娜之間的關(guān)系漸漸開始失控，他們的接觸不再局限于床榻之上，而是蔓延到了日常之中。
