 黎耀輝（梁朝偉）與何寶榮（張國(guó)榮）是一對(duì)同性戀人，為了有新的開(kāi)始，他們懷著美麗的夢(mèng)想（去看南美洲大瀑布）離開(kāi)香港來(lái)到阿根廷，卻在布宜諾斯艾利斯迷了路。黎耀輝想安下心來(lái)過(guò)日子，無(wú)奈何寶榮于夜夜笙歌中放縱著自己的生命，以期找尋更多的刺激，只當(dāng)黎耀輝是他受傷后的港灣，兩人分歧 、爭(zhēng)吵越來(lái)越多，心的距離越來(lái)越遠(yuǎn)。黎耀輝明白過(guò)去的日子不可能再?gòu)?fù)返時(shí)，決定離開(kāi)何寶榮，而正是在他離開(kāi)后，絕望的意味（對(duì)黎耀輝的愛(ài)）才在何寶榮的腦海中完整地浮現(xiàn)。

　　Following her mother’s death, manga artist Soriya travels to her ancestral home in Phnom Penh, with hopes of reconnecting with her distant family and using the visit as inspiration for her work. All goes well initially. Renting an apartment in Metta, a rundown Khmer Rouge-era housing complex, her visit to her maternal relatives finds her welcomed with open arms. But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present.　　Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
