Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 由藤井道人執(zhí)導(dǎo)并編劇、與館博二度合作的本片《港之光》，以北陸港口小鎮(zhèn)為背景，描繪了前黑道成員“大叔”與因事故失去雙親及視力的少年幸太之間跨越十余年的友情。片中，大叔通過“某種方法”籌措資金使幸太重見光明，但彼時(shí)大叔已不在身邊。成長為青年的幸太相信著“其實(shí)大叔曾是刑警”這個(gè)小小謊言，如同追逐給予自己光明的憧憬之人般，成為了刑警。館博飾演化名三浦的“大叔”，歌舞伎界新星尾上真秀首登銀幕出演少年幸太，真榮田鄉(xiāng)敦詮釋青年幸太。
