　　Following her mother’s death, manga artist Soriya travels to her ancestral home in Phnom Penh, with hopes of reconnecting with her distant family and using the visit as inspiration for her work. All goes well initially. Renting an apartment in Metta, a rundown Khmer Rouge-era housing complex, her visit to her maternal relatives finds her welcomed with open arms. But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present.　　Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.

May 是一名年輕的建筑師，她剛剛和男朋友 Gun 搬進(jìn)了郊區(qū)的新家，就收到了繼母 Po 的死訊。只有 Po 的女兒 Noon 作證說有人殺害了她的母親，但是似乎沒有任何明顯的證據(jù)。當(dāng) May 決定在家照顧 Noon 時(shí)，Noon 出現(xiàn)了異常癥狀，就像被鬼附身一樣。而 May 自己則因生病而開始無法入睡。Gun 于是請(qǐng) Chok、Sak 和 Master Khom 來幫忙。Master Khom 立刻意識(shí)到她的房子里有過去的“黑魔法”，他要求所有人找出這種邪惡的根源。過去與大師的面部皮膚有關(guān)的不幸事件被同一門派的另一位弟子 Jong Master 移除，這就是所有這些恐怖故事的根源。
