Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.  NJ（吳念真）是個(gè)很有原則的生意人，同妻子敏敏（金燕玲）、女兒婷婷（李凱莉）、兒子洋洋（張楊洋）以及外婆住在臺(tái)北某所普通公寓里。小舅子的一場麻煩婚禮過后，因?yàn)橥馄磐蝗恢酗L(fēng)昏迷，他迎來更加混亂的日子。敏敏公司、家里兩頭跑，時(shí)常感覺自己要被耗空；婷婷一直為外婆的中風(fēng)內(nèi)疚，戀愛談到中途發(fā)現(xiàn)自己不過是替代品；NJ更是麻煩重重，公司面臨破產(chǎn)，他又不愿放下別人眼里一文不值的自尊。一家人里，似乎只有洋洋沒有煩惱，他平靜地用照相機(jī)拍著各種人的背面，幫他們長出另一雙眼睛，然而，洋洋簡簡單單的一句話，道出更深的悲涼。
