 因父母工作原因，十歲的徐闖一直寄居在鄉(xiāng)下姥姥家，他和堂舅李飽的兒子賴蛋是一對(duì)好朋友。1991年，徐闖經(jīng)歷了家族中的生老病死、婚喪嫁娶，在歲月靜流之中感受著親人之間隱忍又濃烈的情感。那一年的鄉(xiāng)村也在悄然改變……

Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
